Portola Valley, CA and San Mateo, CA – 10/26/2015 – Nutrilog, a European leader in nutrition and wellness
software solutions, and 22otters, a dynamic, mobile health engagement and
clinical content software company, today announced a strategic alliance to
develop an evidence-based nutrition and wellness end-to-end solution that
allows corporations to assess the efficiency, impact and success of their
wellness programs while enabling at-risk employees to avoid health conditions
that may well affect their daily lives.
Through this agreement,
Nutrilog and 22otters will offer their technologies in an integrated solution,
named EatwellRx™, that addresses employers’ need to provide a unique,
interactive and seamless experience to their employees to engage them in
improving their overall wellness with periodic body composition, nutritional
and physical activity assessments.
This partnership comes simultaneously
with the launch of the SaaS version of Nutrilog’s flagship nutrition software,
which enables healthcare professionals to perform nutritional assessments and
provide specific and individualized diet recommendations to their patients (end
users e.g., embracing employee use case) based on their own characteristics,
such as biometric and body composition data, food allergies and
contraindications, food preferences and aversions, and physical activity.
22otters has produced CareSparks,
a platform that actively assesses, coaches and retains mobile health application
users by providing an engaging experience through the seamless integration of
animated graphics and voice-enabled technology. With the integration of CareSparks
technology in the EatwellRx™ solution, the app literally talks employees
through their body composition analysis and tells them which diet behavior
would be best, based on choices available
in the employer’s cafeteria that day. The EatwellRx™ solution is unique in that it is
customized for the employer and personalized for the employee. Diet tracking is made more convenient
as well, since employees can quickly tell the app what choices they made after
each meal.
“When we decided to offer the EatwellRx™ solution to employees at their workplace, we knew that the
major challenge would be about engaging and retaining users, where many
nutrition initiatives had failed before,” said François Recorbet, co-founder
and CEO of Nutrilog. “Therefore, working with a knowledgeable and reliable
partner in the field of mobile health engagement, such as 22otters, made total
sense. It would reduce our time to market and be key to our success.”
“Partnering with Nutrilog
was an easy decision for us; their leading-edge body-composition technology
enables us to adapt our mobile dialog platform to important diet and wellness
uses, while opening doors in the European market as well,” said Bob Quinn, CEO
of 22otters. “A key need in the employer wellness space is a physical measure
that is convenient to take and a driver of effective coaching interactions,
goal-achievement assessment and even group gamification, and Nutrilog offers a
uniquely effective solution to that problem.”

platform at the Health Tech Conference in Santa Clara on October 27-28th.
